Development Prospect

In the period of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, SSEI will make substantial progress in technology, equipment, human resources and management under the support of the leaders of the SINOPEC group corporation and through the joint efforts of all the staff. SSEI endeavors to catch up with world-class safety research institutes and to establish safety technology supporting systems to drive the development of the Sinopec. Thus, SSEI will serve as a window to showcase the HSE achievements of Sinopec and contribute to value retention and increase of state-owned capital.

Through years of development, SSEI’s safety technology can basically meet the needs of Sinopec and can compete with similar safety research institutes abroad. Gradually, a domestically-advanced quantitative risk assessment technology system comes into being for petrochemical equipment special risk evaluation, occupational health assessment and dynamic risk evaluation for the service life of equipment. A mechanical integrity management structure has been basically established to deliver such services as failure mode and effects analysis(FMEA), reliability analysis, life prediction as well as fire dynamic simulation analysis against large petroleum storage tanks and long oil pipelines. Meanwhile, relevant testing measures are provided to ensure storage and transportation safety. SSEI can monitor and test hazardous and harmful elements and safety testing equipment at operation sites, offer complete accident prevention and chemical emergency rescuing technology and technical services related to static electricity, lightning protection and noise control.

As to hardware, SSEI owns domestically-advanced safety laboratory and testing equipment, which meets the needs of various safety research projects. Besides, a team staffed by well-educated young professionals for a range of academic disciplines has been formed and it can meet the needs for scientific research, safety management and technical service. Consequently, the safety research institute will gradually grow into a professional agency with first class human resources, first class  equipment, first class management, first class technology and first class achievements.
